All
Guidelines are in accordance the Catalina Council’s Internet
policy located at: http://catalinacouncil.org/documents/Internet%20Guidelines.html.
The
Guidelines below are meant to assist you in getting your article
submitted to the Spanish Trails E-mail blast and posting on the
appropriate Spanish trails web page in a timely manner. Deadline
for article submissions is listed below.
Please try to get your articles in by these dates.
Articles
submitted after publication date will be sent out at the discretion
of the District Director, District Executive and Publications Chair
in a second e-mailing or
will be held to the next scheduled E-mail Blast. If
you are going to submit a Flier in relation to your article please
submit it (Flier) in the Adobe Acrobat file format (.PDF) As this
will allow all district members to view the file with a Freeware
version of Adobe Acrobat reader
If you do not have access to Adobe Acrobat Please contact the
District Director, District Executive or Publications Chair
so arrangements can be made. Articles
submitted should be in a “Ready-to-Publish” condition.
Suggestions to make your article are: Check
your spelling. A misspelled word can change the mood of the message. Observe
grammar and rules of punctuation to the best of your ability. Make
sure calendars have correct information. If you are not sure…
don't submit. Most would rather have no information and keep looking
for it than the wrong information and miss the event. Keep
paragraphs short and succinct. Be
careful and monitor how you use sarcasm or humor on your page
because your message may not be received in the spirit that it was
meant. Do
write in a non-opinioned format. Save the attitude for a different
venue. Use
of non-standard writing will hamper the ability and desire of others
to receive the information you are sharing.
Focus on one subject per message area. Separate
subjects by lines or spaces. Just make sure the themes do not run
together and confuse the viewer and convey incorrect information.
