United Way’s annual Day of Caring up at Camp Lawton is one of the largest community-wide volunteer event in our local Organization. This event brings together the corporate and nonprofit sectors of Greater Tucson to make a community-wide impact though service projects and volunteerism. Tucson’s corporate community are paired with nonprofit organizations, school and childcare centers, based on their mission and project, to impact the organization and community. Boy Scouts of America, Catalina Council would like to thank all the organizations who came up to help clean up our camp. With your help, The J-Channel project to eliminate sharp edges on all the wooden tents was completed. Finished our handicraft building and get a good amount of it painted. With your help, we scrubbed and wood oil the Dining Hall, Trading Post, Health Lodge, and Upper Cabins. This will help with the upcoming in climate weather. The trash and debris behind our health lodge and in varies places in camp was removed, piled up, and loaded into the dumpster. The fencing around the front of the camp was started and looks great. Without great volunteers like yourselves we wouldn’t be able to provide great facilities and opportunities for the youth of our community. Again, thank you so much for your time and work. You are all amazing!
