The Grand Canyon Council and the Catalina Council in conjunction with Freeport-McMoRan have joined together to offer your Scouts the best opportunity to earn the Mining in Society Merit Badge.
Adults are REQUIRED to REGISTER for this MB clinic (at no cost) if attending. MUST BE AT LEAST 12 YEARS OLD
When: Friday, May 31st from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM (MUST be registered by 8:30 am)

Read the Mining in Society MB booklet (available at Scout Shop)
Bring Worksheet with the following items completed: Requirements: 1 (all), 4 (come prepared), 6c (come prepared) and 7 (do one and come prepared to share)

ALL attendees must wear long pants and closed-toe shoes
Scouts will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on activities tied to the merit badge and tour a working copper mine; getting up close and personal with awesome mining equipment and rocks, rocks, rocks!
Only 1 adult may attend per scout. Units may attend with 2 or more unit leaders, but not exceeding the 1 to 1 ratio.
Adults are REQUIRED to REGISTER for this MB clinic to assist in keeping Scouts on track.
