Latest Information & Policies on COVID-19
As always, your safety and the safety of all our members, volunteers, and employees is our top priority. We know there are questions and concerns about how COVID-19, commonly known as the coronavirus, could affect local Scouting programs in the Catalina Council. Please know that we are monitoring developments regarding COVID-19 from the Arizona Department of Health (ADH) https://azdhs.gov/ and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
The following information regarding events and prevention measures is based on the latest available guidance. As this is an evolving situation, this information is subject to change. We will continue to update you on relevant developments, and we appreciate your understanding of any necessary adjustments in the interest of health and safety.
Notice If you have a fever, cough, or other symptoms associated with COVID-19, or if you believe you may have been exposed to COVID-19, you should isolate and not attend any Scouting events. People who think they may have been exposed to COVID-19 should contact their healthcare provider immediately.
With this afternoon’s recommendation from the CDC the National Scout Store is closed and the Service Center on Broadway Blvd will not be open to the public but will remained staffed through the end of March. During this time staff will be working and available via telephone and email to provide customer service and support to our stakeholders. All national Scout Stores in our region are closed. During this two-week stretch, customers are encouraged to visit scoutshop.org for Supply needs.
Look for more updates as we move forward. We’ll also be adding a page on our website with activities Scouts can do at home.
Finally, I am reminded of a quote from our founder, Baden—Powell when thinking of difficulties.
“Life would pall if it were all sugar; salt is bitter if taken by itself, but when tasted as part of a dish, it savors the meat. Difficulties are the salt of life.”
Thanks for all that you do, take care.
