Celebrating 99 years of Camping on Mount Lemmon at Catalina Council Camp Lawton

When: Sunday, July 5th at 8:00pm through Friday, July 10th following closing campfire

Who: Scouts BSA will celebrate the 99th anniversary with a virtual camp with youth aging 10 ½ to 17 from Southern Arizona.

How: Youth will begin the week by participating in a “live” opening campfire filled with Scouting’s favorite skits, songs and run-ons. Each day will start with a morning ceremony, inspirational quote and then continue into 6 opportunities for youth to learn about a potential career (merit badges).

Throughout the week Scouts will have the opportunity to select from 19 merit badges. Merit Badges will be held virtually by qualified volunteers.   Mid-week, Scouts will get a break from learning and enjoy a fun Scouting “Spirit Day’. Spirit Day will allow Scouts to “Do a good Turn”, participate in making their own skit, win scout survivor, learn to cook a Dutch oven desert for their families and much more. The week will close just like many before with a “live” closing campfire that will feature the Retirement of our Colors. BSA is just one of a few honored groups that can present this special ceremony.

Cost- $99 per youth. Each youth will receive a camp patch, t-shirt, walking staff, and coupon for the virtual trading post.
