The Catalina Council BSA was featured at the longtime favorite Fourth of July Parade in Summerhaven.  The Council received a special invitation from the parade committee, our Camp Lawton neighbor, and were honored to lead the parade with a special color guard. Shortly after a dramatic fly-over by two F-16s from the Arizona National Guard, six Scouts from Troops 007, 216, 299, and 2020 kicked off the parade with a pass and review in front of the Summerhaven Community Center. They continued down the parade route toward Marshall Gulch.  The scouts were greeted along the route by many former Scouts, Philmont past trekkers, and prominent Scout supporters.  If you haven’t been to this parade, put in on your calendar for 2024!
Parade participants included: John Sloan, Helena Sloan, Gabriel Maskey, Samuel Cochran, Enzo Viloria-Enviso, Nico Romero

Veterans Day Parade in Tucson and Nogales

Pack 747 collected a massive amount of donations for gift bags for veterans. The cubs decorated the bags, wrote little notes of thanks, and we assembled them. Half a dozen got dropped off at La Sonora Retirement home in Dove Mountain for veterans on hospice. We also brought a few electric blankets for their common area. The rest are being dropped off at the Veterans Home off Ajo.
Thank you Tucson Fire Station 3 for helping us out at the Council Service Center on Veterans Day when our American flag wrapped around the nearby pole.
