Volunteer Recognition

Every year, the Boy Scouts of America, Catalina Council recognizes volunteers within the Council for their support and dedication to the programs of Scouting.

2022 Silver Antelope Award

The Silver Antelope Award, created in 1942, is the regional-level distinguished service award of the Boy Scouts of America, acting through the National Court of Honor. Recipients of this award are registered Scouters of exceptional character in their region to recognize their distinguished service to youth.

Silver Beaver Award

The Silver Beaver Award is the Council-level distinguished service award of the Boy Scouts of America. Presented by the National Court of Honor on behalf of councils. Recipients of this award are registered, adult leaders of exceptional character who have provided distinguished service within our council.

District Award of Merit

The highest award that is given to a Scouter at the District level and also the only “non-square knot” in the knot award group.  The District Award of Merit is awarded by a District to volunteer and professional adults for service to youth in the District.  A person may receive the District Award of Merit more than once from different districts but there are no provisions for wearing more than one.
