
BSA Lifeguard Training is traditional lifeguard training provided by the BSA to Scouters age 15 and older that would like to serve as lifeguards at Scout camps.

Overview
BSA Lifeguard is professional level training that meets the requirements of government agencies for professional lifeguards at regulated swimming activities. Those who want to work the waterfront at any BSA summer camp need this training.
Prereqs
- 15 years of age on or before the completion of course / certification.
- Mature and dependable character and be a strong swimmer and be able to swim at least 550 yards.
- Completed and be current in CPR and AED for the Professional through any nationally recognized organization: ECSI, ASHI, United Heart or ARC. Please bring the certification card.
- Have Swimming and Lifesaving Merit Badges. Please provide MB cards.
- Have a current BSA medical form.
To Bring
This is an all day, outdoor experience. All participants need to bring:
- Backpack
- Water bottle
- Snacks
- Sun protection
- Outdoor attire (as applicable)
- Notebook, pens/pencils
- Close-toed shoes
- Face covering
